Structuring and Patterning Needlelooms
Dilo invented the structuring and patterning of preneedled needlefelts in the 1960s. In this process, special fork needles transport fibre loops from the needlefelt into a lamellar grid resulting in pile loops on the backside of the needlefelt. By using different needle arrangements and multi-coloured layers of needlefelts, a great variety of patterns can be realized. A programme-controlled lifting and lowering of the lamellar table allows three-dimensional designs.
