The lap drafter of DiloSpinnbau is used between crosslapper and needleloom. The web delivered from the crosslapper is drafted homogeneously in up to 19 drafting zones. Thus lightweight webs are created without destroying the homogenizing effects of the crosslapper. Drafting is done by wired rollers which fix the web during the drafting process thus resulting in a very low shrinkage. The reorientation of fibres in machine direction leads to low shrinkage in the subsequent processing and results in a higher homogeneity of the needlefelt. Drafting also increases the line speed which results in an increase of the card throughput.
