The fibre preparation equipment of DiloTemafa opens the fibre, assures a good blending and results in the desired proportions of the fibre components. The card feeder (vibration chute feeder RS) forms from the fibre flocks a very even and compact mat. A belt weigher or a radiography unit keep the flock mat weight constant. In the card (VectorQuadroCard) the fibres are opened further. Compression rollers at the lower doffer result in a voluminous web.

The choice of the right needling parameters, i. e. needle pattern, stitching density, stitching depth and needle type is essential for a high structural strength, abrasion resistance and the desired optical and tactile surface quality. In addition, using a DI-LOUR needleloom velour like felts can be produced. Using crown or fork needles, fibre tufts from a preneedled felt are needled into a brush transport apron; these fibres which are vertical to the plane form a pile and are responsible for a velvet surface structure.
