HyperTex Line
Needlefelts for filter media, geotextiles, roofing material or carpets have to sustain high tensile loads. To reduce fibre consumption, needlefelts for these application areas are reinforced by yarns. Our HyperTex installation combines the production of yarn layers by the Turbotex installation of Messrs. Ontec Automation GmbH with the bonding technology of a highspeed needleloom. In this way, the yarn layer can be fed off-line or even inline between two needlefelt layers. The binding and fixing of the yarn is done by a Hyperpunch needleloom saving resources. The mesh size is infinitely variable up to 20 x 20 mm. The advantages in comparison to the use of a weave are among others a significantly higher production speed and a lower fibre requirement at comparable tensile strength. The HyperTex process can use polyester and polyamide filaments as well as high capacity filaments made of glass, aramid or carbon. A HyperTex installation is available in the Textile Research Centre in Eberbach for demonstration and trials.
