MultiFeed

For homogeneous card feeding a continuous fibre mass flow in cross and machine directions is essential. For this purpose, the card feeder MultiFeed is combined with a preceding trunk and opening unit, the dosing opener DON. This trunk stores the opened and blended fibres from the fibre preparation stage. Starting there, the fibre flocks are transported with a controlled mass flow to the upper chute of the MultiFeed. The fibre mass flow is homogenized over the working width at this stage as the fibre-air-flow deposits fibres at places with a low level and thus equalizes level differences (pneumatic principle). A further opening stage in the lower trunk of the MultiFeed opens the fibres even more before the card feeding. The small flocks also provide a homogeneous mass distribution in the mat. The vibrating wall in the lower trunk of the feeder, a vacuum delivery apron and an exit roller create a compact web mat.
